I am starting a new juice fast tomorrow..
I am so excited! I have been wanting to do another for a couple of months I have just not had a clear few weeks (responsibility wise) until now.
We are going on a vaca to Venice Beach on June 16 so I have a max of 17 days I could do! I am not telling myself I will do "X" number of days..
I have already stocked up on a few days worth of fruits and veg and I have a few Suja for emergencies or when I am tired (it happens lots the first week).. Patrick has said he will shop for me the first week (or as often as I need really) if I am exhausted.. I have a hard time the first week.
I have inherited a Hurom juicer from mom that is apparently amazing!
SOMETHING I AM DOING DIFFFERENT:
I will have 1 Tablespoon of Hemp Oil for the fat and essential fatty acids (no fat at all causes me to have gall bladder issues).. if I go more than 3 or 4 days. I also have Coconut oil I may use instead every once in a while.
FOR MOTIVATION (which I really don't need because I am so READY!) I have been watch Jason Vale's Super Juice Me documentary.. I've seen it several times and it's amazing. I just LOVE it. I also own "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" and will watch that again soon. I like to watch Youtube videos and success stories about juicing while I am doing this. It really fine tunes my focus.
ALSO wanted to note a Youtube video "Juice Feasting with John Rose in Houston" It's a great one to watch.. lots of interesting knowledge and it's 2 hours long.. very good.. info like adding VitaMineral Green, Vitalzyme and taking omegas in the form of borage, Evening Primrose Oil, black currant oil, hemp oil.. for women to protect their gall bladder.. also using prunes to break the fast.. lots of great info.

BEST!! Raw Walnut Banana Bread
OMG I made the BEST Raw Banana Nut Bread!!!!!! It's incredible!!!!
NOTE to self.. remember to take pix!!!
This is the recipe:
Raw Walnut Banana Bread
2C cups raw almonds Soaked 24 hours
1 1/2 cup raw walnuts Soaked overnight , divided
1/2 cup oat groats sprouted and rinced well (got these from sprout people and they are so good just soaked overnight!)
1/3C co flour (used actual CO flour so not 100% raw)
2T maple syrup
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
pinch nutmeg
1 lemon juiced plus the grated zest
1T vanilla bean (used a small pour of my good vanilla)
1/3C ground flax
Half teaspoon of fine sea salt
12 dated divided (6+6 medjool dates chopped (set aside 1/3C)
2.5 medium bananas, very ripe
In a food processor fitted with the S blade, blend the almonds, 1 cup of the walnut pieces, and oat groats. Add CO flour and ground flax.. blend a second.. add half lemon juice and all spices. Add the dates and bananas; blend until the mixture forms a dough. Remove the S blade from the mixing bowl and place in bowl and stir in the remaining 1/2 cup of walnut pieces and 1/3C chopped dates with a wooden spoon... add more lemon juice as needed to make very thick batter.
Put batter in a gallon ziploc and pat down to about 1 inch thick and chill overnight..
Cut into logs and put in dehydrator overnight.. turn over and dehydrate several more hours..
Raw Breakfast Crackers Recipe
I wanted to come up with a dehydrated cracker that I could have with my Raw Waldorf salad... I find that as I am transitioning to more and more raw, that having dehydrated, more dense food really helps on occasion for sure (still eating cooked vegan on many nights) but I have made salads (I LOVE a good salad and enjoy coming up with meals that are amazing salads) several nights and this past weekend both days we were 100% Raw.
So I wanted a cracker that was not savory. I like mixing fruit and greens for lunch occasionally and don't want a savory cracker for those.
I made Raw Breakfast Dried Fruit and Sunflower Seed Crackers:
1 heaping Tablespoon Raw cacao
2 oranges I zested the peel and then peeled oranges and chopped them
6 huge, juicy amazing Medjool dates (they were like the size of 2 normal dates!
1 C Sunflower seeds soaked 4 hours
1/2 C Flax seed soaked 4 hours
3/4 C Pumpkin seed soaked overnight
Half teaspoon sea salt
1/2 C Dried mango cheeks from TheLivingTreeCommuity (these are absolutely incredible!!) chopped
1/2 C Dried peaches from TheLivingTreeCommunity (also just amazing) chopped
You can find Living Tree Community Foods here: https://www.livingtreecommunityfoods.com/
I set aside the dried mango and peaches and half of the sunflower and pumpkin seeds, threw everything else in the food processor and blended.. it was fairly watery.. I was afraid I might need to add more flax but after I added in the chopped fruit and rest of the seeds and stirred it up.. it was ok to spoon onto my teflex in small 3 inch rounds approx.
I dehydrated 24 hours and then turned over onto the grate mats and dehydrated another 24 hours

Getting it in Gear
I've been doing fair. I am transitioning to high raw and eating lots of salads and fruits.. way too many nuts, seeds, dried fruits, nut butters and Lara Bars I am sure.. but I decided to not worry about how I am eating as long as I am eating as much raw as I can.. I am craving more dense foods right now because I have been eating tons of meat and cheeses and crap processed for the lasts several months.
My transition will happen and I will be just fine.
I've been buying Suja green juice and having one or two every day and having fruit in the AM.. I'm eating a cooked Vegan dinner most nights but staying raw most of the day until then.
I've made my fav SW crackers (recipe on this blog) and yesterday I mixed up some Raw Banana Nut Bread I was going to put in the dehydrater and I could really smell the jalapeno and garlic from the SW crackers and didn't want that infusing into my Banana Nut Bread so I froze the batter until my crackers are finished and I will put them in the dehydrator tomorrow.
I love my SW crackers with tomato, avocado, vidalia onion capers ad balsamic.
Today I made one of my favorite salads... grapes, celery and pecans. I love this combo.. it's sweet and salty.

Back To It...
I sure wish I had stayed Raw all this time.. it's been years that I have been on and off. My life lately is easy enough that I now have more time on my hands and am going to transition us back to it.
I have had a bunch of labwork done and am dealing with really high cRP.. inflammation... I have inflammatory bowel and am in a pretty good flare. I know switching to Raw and high fruit and juicing will help.
I will be making some of my old favorites plus a couple of new recipes I have wanted to try. I'll post them if they are great!
More to come...

Cooked Vegan in a High Raw Lifestyle and Dizziness is Detox
I'm eating lots of raw.. mostly eating raw till after 4. I have lots of fruit and salad and I've been juicing carrot, turmeric ginger juice. I also have been drinking an anti-inflammatory shake that's high raw.
It's frozen organic fruit (I like the mixed berry), a banana, ground flax seed, hemp seed protein powder, flax oil, borage oil, raw cacao and stevia. I've been making it for my hubs too occasionally. He loves anything chocolate so it's a winner.
I've been eating cooked vegan occasionally for dinner. If I don't eat the occasional cooked vegan meal my detox is too hard core. My favorite cooked meal lately is to make a really great guacamole, salute some kale and garlic and roast a couple of fat Yukon gold potatoes and mix the gauc and kale and stuff the potatoes with it. AWESOME!!!!
I also found a great recipe for vegan Paella. I'll post the recipe next time I make it.
I am having a bit of headache and yesterday I was dizzy when I woke. I know it's detox. I would be really worried and freaked out with dizziness because I had never read it IS a detox symptom. It' very unsettling to me. I would almost have a headache over dizziness.

Broccoli, Carrot and Raisin Slaw YUM!
I needed to get this in my blog because this is my go-to when I need a quick dinner salad. I find myself making it more often than just about any other meal for dinner.
Right now here in Orlando I feel like we are living on the face of the sun and all I want to do is run around the house naked and eat high water fruits and veggies.
This morning we are having watermelon and cherries. I'm making raw corn, avocado, videlia onion, tomato, jalapeƱo, cumin and pink salt salad for lunch and dinner is my fav. Broccoli carrot raisin salad!
When I know I want to have this for dinner I always make it as early in the day as possible so the raisins can plump up with the honey lime juice dressing.
It's EASY to make with a food processor.. just wash veggies.. peel carrots and throw the broccoli and carrot in food processor using the grater/ shredder attachment.. throw in raisins. Add the dressing and chill a few hours. So delish!!
YOU NEED:
Huge head of broccoli or 2 small ones.
8 large carrots peeled
4 Celery stalks (optional)
1 C raisins (you can find raisins that are not pastured online. I buy mine from Natural Zing. also Living Tree Community Foods has truly raw raisins)
Juice from 3-5 limes (you want at least 3/4 C- I like more like a Cup because I love lots of juice )
Half C raw honey (or make date syrup if you are totally Vegan)
Pinch pink salt or whatever your favorite salt is.
Raw Sunflower Seeds
Mix honey and lime juice in blender.. add pinch salt.
Process veggies in food processor.
Throw in bowl.. add raisins.. cover with dressing and stir well.
OPTIONAL : I like to add a little celery sometimes and I have begun throwing raw sunflower seeds on top when I serve it.
Cover and chill as long as you can! This is exceptionally good the next day.
